2024 AT A GLANCE

2024 was a transformative year for the Meso Foundation, strengthening our structure, expanding programs, and advancing our ecosystem of

education and opportunity.

At Colegio Mesoamericano, 399 students and 42 graduates thrived through academic innovation and emotional growth. Indigo deepened its

impact, and our scholarship program supported 62 students through a new transparent model.

With 25 CAUKIN Studio volunteers, we built our first new playground in over 20 years—a true symbol of collaboration and hope.

Our social ventures flourished as Meso Trading Post opened in Antigua, Pixel welcomed student interns, and Meso Eats served more than 3,500 meals.

We strengthened partnerships through the Luis von Ahn’s Core Grant Program, the Funds for Impact Conference in Peru, the launch of

One Camino, and our first Leadership Retreat.

Together, these milestones move us closer to a healthier, happier, and more prosperous Guatemala.

This year, Colegio Mesoamericano focused on strengthening teacher support, classroom management, and student guidance. We expanded campus internet
coverage, created a reflection space for students, and provided teachers with personalized support to improve learning and engagement.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • English proficiency increased from 56% to 86%
  • 18 students earned TOEFL certification
  • 1 student received a scholarship to Universidad del Valle de Guatemala
  •  1 student earned a scholarship to Zamorano University
  •  1 student won first place in Code Monkey
  • Students advanced to the departmental level in the USAC Olympiads for Mathematics and Physics, earning second place in Diversified Physics and representing the department at the national level.
