Help us achieve our 30-30 goal: Support 30 students with 30% scholarships for just $60 a month.
¡Hola! It's nice to meet you.
We are a Guatemalan-American non-profit foundation leveraging education + business to empower the native people of Guatemala.
Empower 30 Students with Scholarships and Education!
At Colegio Mesoamericano, we serve families with diverse financial needs. Some require full scholarships, while others just need a little extra help to keep their children in school.
That’s where our 30-30 Campaign comes in. This initiative focuses on supporting families who can contribute but need a small boost. Our goal this Giving Tuesday is to provide 30 students with 30% scholarships at just $60 a month.
This small push makes a big difference, giving these kids access to quality education, emotional support, and the opportunities they deserve.

What do we look for in a Kid? (GENI)
To ensure your contributions reach students in need, we’ve established GENI, which stands for Grit, Emotional Intelligence, Need, and Intelligence Quotient. We are committed to these principles.
Grit
It reflects determination and resilience; This characteristic enables students to persist through adversity, making them better equipped to seize the opportunities presented to them.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Students with a reasonable EQ can adapt to changes, integrate better into our system, navigate challenges, and build meaningful relationships.
Need
Getting to know the families’ needs helps us share resources fairly and effectively. It also lets us understand the students’ challenges better so we can support them properly.
Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
IQ can indicate a person’s ability to solve problems and understand complex concepts. It’s often used to predict academic success and potential in various professions.

Meet Sara
Sara, a psychology major and former Meso scholarship student, regularly meets with our students, working alongside their teachers and parents, to support their well-being and ensure they meet our scholarship criteria. Our bi-monthly challenges, part of the Indigo program, focus on personal growth and emotional health. In their final year, we also assist students with applications for post-graduation scholarships and opportunities.
Questions we often get:

You can learn more about Colegio Mesoamericano here.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Absolutely! Meso Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which makes your donation tax-deductible. You will receive the appropriate tax form at the end of the tax year.
Where does my donation go?
EVERY cent you donate is used solely for the students’ education—none of it goes to admin costs. Your support is fully invested in our students’ learning and success.
What updates would I get?

Is there an ongoing commitment?
Not at all, there’s no ongoing commitment required. Whether you make a one-time gift or more, we appreciate your support. Every bit helps, and your contribution makes a real difference in our students’ lives.
Can I visit the school?
We’re excited at the thought of you visiting! If you’re heading to Guatemala, drop us a line. We’d be happy to suggest some must-see spots and set up a tour of our school so you can see our work firsthand.
Just a heads-up, our school year runs from January 15th to October 15th. If you come outside these months, we can still show you around, but the students will be on break so you won’t get to meet them.
How can I get more involved?
There are several ways to get involved beyond just donating money. You can become a virtual volunteer, give your time and energy, and help us spread our story by following and sharing on social media.
